Chicano Art

Ruhlmann and Art Deco

Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann (1879-1933) was renowned as the premier voluptuousness designer of his day. His works--furniture, lighting, ceramics, carpets and textiles--epitomize the French Art Deco fashion of the 1920s. This exhibition is organized on the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in collaboration with Le Musees de Annees 30 Boulogne-Binancourt, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in strange York. It debuts at the Met June 8-Sept 5 2004 and travels to Montreal, tribe 30-Dec. 12, 2004.

Childe Hassam
